Western Pennsylvania

In June 2018, Vision To Learn launched a program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The kickoff event at Pittsburgh King PreK-8 was attended by Pennsylvania Executive Director of the Children’s Health Insurance Program Patricia Allan, Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, Vision To Learn President Ann Hollister, and emcee’d by Vision To Learn Pennsylvania Co-Chair Bruce Gebhardt.

Vision To Learn works with more than thirty five school districts across ten counties in Southwestern PA, and partners the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, UPMC Children’s Hospital and local community groups to provide visits during the summer across the region.  We have provided more than 15,800 eye exams and 14,300 pairs of glasses to kids in need throughout the region since 2018.

In 2023, VTL will expand to support schools in Lawrence and Mercer counties.  An estimated 30,000 kids in Southwestern Pennsylvania need glasses and don’t have them.  If you think Vision To Learn might be able help your school or community, contact Program Manager Mara Babilya.
