Central Pennsylvania

Read the Pennsylvania Annual Report

In 2021, Vision To Learn expanded our work in Pennsylvania to help kids in Central Pennsylvania. The program visits schools throughout eleven counties in Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.

The program has provided more than 3,000 eye exams and 2,500 pairs of glasses to students in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Perry, and York Counties.

In November of 2022, Vision To Learn, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and York School District came together at Hannah Penn Elementary to celebrate a new CHIP Health Services Initiative, supporting vision care to for thousands more kids across the commonwealth. This initiative, the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, will use untapped federal funds and private philanthropy to help tens of thousands of students across Pennsylvania receive eye exams and glasses.

As Acting Secretary Snead said, “Providing children with the glasses they need to feel comfortable moving through life every day is vital to their success in the classroom and beyond.”
