In December 2017 Vision To Learn was invited to appear on The Dr. Oz Show, in New York City. Best-selling author and world renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz interviewed Vision To Learn’s founder and chair Austin Beutner regarding the unmet need for student vision care, which impacts an estimated 2 million kids nationwide.
During the show several students were provided eye exams in Vision To Learn’s mobile vision clinic. Dr. Oz invited two students from his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, into the studio, where he helped them try on their new glasses. Dr. Oz and Austin Beutner encouraged viewers to contact their elected representatives and urge them to support programs providing eye exams to students at school.
