This school year we provided 39 students at Waimalu Elementary School in Pearl City, Hawai‘i with glasses all at no cost to the child or their family!

When asked about his new glasses, Fourth Grader Makai said:

"Thank you for checking my eyes and my eyesight. You are the number 1, best in the world. Thank you for letting me look and pick the glasses I like. Now, I look handsome. I can see better than using my old glasses."

Recently our California team provided a 3rd grade student from Gateway Elementary School in Ridgecrest with an eye exam and a brand-new pair of glasses, all at no cost to the child or their family.

For her family, traveling two hours out of town for eye care wasn’t possible since they did not have access to a vehicle. Thanks to Vision To Learn`s mobile clinic visiting her school directly, she can now see clearly and focus on her education!

As her mother shared, "This program provided us with a huge blessing for our daughter. We are extremely grateful and feeling very blessed today."

👓 Seeing West Liberty Clearly!

When these two siblings received their glasses through @visiontolearn, everything from their love of reading to their confidence in the classroom improved.

Their mom knows firsthand just how life-changing a pair of glasses can be. When recalling her time in kindergarten she told us:

"I remember crying every day because I truly couldn’t see well. I would follow a classmate around just so I’d know where to line up after recess because I couldn’t make out the spray-painted letters on the sidewalk."

Now, as both a parent and an educator, she’s witnessed that same transformation in her own children. She shared how her daughter "was beaming from ear to ear when she received her first pair of teal glasses," and how these glasses have helped her concentrate and thrive at school. And with a second pair, those hectic mornings have gotten a little easier!

For many families vision insurance doesn’t fully cover the cost of glasses. That’s why Vision To Learn provides vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses directly to students at no cost, so every child can see clearly in school and in life.

Today, @visiontolearn is celebrating 13 incredible years of providing children with the glasses they need to see clearly in school and in life!

Since our first day helping five students at a school in Northridge, CA, Vision To Learn has helped more than 3.4 million students in 17 states and the District of Columbia, including 655,000 provided with eye exams and 545,000 with glasses, all at no cost to the child or their family.
